We are at the entrance to the Corbières massif, near the village of Portel-des-Corbières, at an altitude of 300m and 10 km from the Mediterranean Sea.

Located in “Corbières Maritimes”, our terroir is made up of a unique subsoil and specific climatic conditions:

300 days of sunshine per year:a guarantee of reaching the maturity necessary for the grapes to create great wines.
300 windy days a year:The Tramontana, blowing from the North-West, is cold and powerful, excellent phytosanitary conditions for cleaning up the vines and grapes.

A maritime microclimate:cool and temperate, the Mediterranean Sea winds soften the variations in temperature for the good maturity of the grapes.
Soils predominantly clay-limestone: for excellent drainage which brings freshness and minerality to the wines.

In 2005, scientific soil analysis revealed sub-terroirs on the Lastours estate. In order for the vines to flourish fully, we have adapted the local grape varieties to the different terroirs. The soil is worked to achieve uniform maturity of all the grape varieties, an optimum phenolic and aromatic. It presents exceptional geological and climatic characteristics, essential conditions for the creation of great wines.
